Fruit as a component of dietary changes

There are different approaches and theories about whether fruit is recommended in weight loss or not. Proponents throw the low amount of calories and the many vitamins and minerals in the balance. Critical voices, on the other hand, claim that the fructose it contains makes you fat.

Minerals, vitamins, fiber

The German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. Apples, berries and the like are indispensable for a healthy diet. They provide the body with many important minerals, vitamins and also fiber, which swells in the stomach and makes you full. In addition, most types of fruit are exceedingly low in calories.

Calories and fructose

Some types of fruit are higher in calories than others: For example, 100g of dates have about 260 kcal, while the same amount of strawberries has only 32 kcal. The calories come largely from the fructose contained, which is very easily converted into energy by the body.

Lose weight healthy with fruit

If you want to lose weight in a healthy way, you should eat fruit every day. It is ideal to choose regional and organically grown fruit varieties. These do not contain any pollutants (such as pesticides) and often have a higher vitamin content than exotic fruits due to the short transport routes.
