Secondary plant compounds are also known as phytamines. They are attributed many health benefits for the human organism. Although they do not directly increase the diet success, but due to their positive effect on health, they are important in healthy weight loss.

Secondary plant compounds, such as flavonoids, carotenoids and phenolic acids, are mainly found in vegetables and fruit. They have a positive effect on the human immune system and metabolism. For example, they protect against free radicals and fight bacteria, fungi and viruses. In addition to the minerals, vitamins and trace elements contained in fruit and vegetables, secondary plant compounds therefore also make a significant contribution to a healthy diet.

However, although they are important for a healthy diet, phytochemicals do not directly affect the success of a diet. So taking them does not make you lose weight more or faster.
