Fish: animal proteins with valuable nutrients

Regular meals of fresh or smoked fish are recommended and, depending on the type of fish, they contain few calories. They are also very rich in protein and their iodine content makes them particularly important for the optimal supply of the thyroid gland.

Eat healthy with fish

When eating fish, the human organism is abundantly supplied with vitamins A and D, as well as unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids. The body does not produce these fatty acids itself. They are stored primarily in pollock, redfish, haddock, rockfish and cod, most of which contain less than 1 percent fat. Fish dishes can favorably influence insulin production, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Optimal storage of fish products important

Since fresh and raw fish is perishable more quickly, care must be taken to ensure proper storage as well as adequate hygiene during preparation. Frozen products, such as fish fillets, are offered throughout the year.

Regularly schedule fish dishes

Freshwater or saltwater fish should be on the menu at least once or twice a week. In the trade, delicious fish varieties are offered in different processing, e.g. also smoked. Rice or potatoes are suitable as a side dish, depending on the calorie requirements.
